Video editor

Trim a recording and add text and audio layers without leaving Progress.

The built-in video editor lets you polish a recording — trim it, add text overlays, layer in audio, and position the camera — all inside the project, then export the result.

Trim and arrange

1
Scrub the timeline

Move the timeline playhead to find the moment you want. The timeline drives everything else.

2
Trim the clip

Set the clip's in and out points to cut off dead air at the start or end, and adjust its volume.

3
Position the camera

Adjust the camera size so the important part of the frame reads clearly.

Layers and export

Add text overlays with their own start and end times, size, and position on screen. Bring in audio layers — set where each starts on the timeline, trim its in and out points, and set its volume. When it looks right, export the edited video.

The editor is the same tool behind Recordings, so any recording you save can be opened and refined here.
