Messages, reactions, and threads
Send, edit, and react to messages, reply in threads, and pin what matters.
Chat messages carry the day-to-day of a project. You can send, edit, and delete them, react with emoji, keep side conversations in threads, and pin the ones worth keeping.
Send and react
Type in the message box — attach a file, @mention a teammate to notify them, or add emoji. Press Enter to send.
Change your mind after posting? Edit or delete your own message.
Add an emoji reaction from the picker. A message that's just a single emoji renders extra large.
Threads and pins
Reply in a thread to keep a side discussion tidy without cluttering the main channel. Pin important messages so they surface in the channel's pinned panel for everyone to find later.
Presence and unread
Typing indicators and presence show who's around, and unread badges flag channels with new messages. When you open a channel, it jumps to the newest message.
Mute a noisy channel or set its notification level from the channel's preferences — per-channel, so you only get pinged where it matters.
