Talk to Scout and Siri

Use voice input in the Scout sidebar, or reach Scout hands-free through Siri Shortcuts.

You don't have to type to use Scout. Speak to it in the sidebar, or set up Siri so you can reach it hands-free from your phone.

Voice input in the sidebar

Scout's sidebar accepts voice input using your browser's built-in speech recognition (the Web Speech API). Tap the mic, speak your request, and it becomes your message. This works in Chrome, Edge, and Safari over a secure connection, and needs microphone permission.

Scout via Siri

1
Create a personal API token

In Settings, create a personal access token and copy it once — you won't see it again.

2
Set up a Siri Shortcut

Use the token in a Siri Shortcut so you can talk to Scout or add a task by voice, without opening the app.

Your API token acts on your behalf — treat it like a password. If one is ever exposed, revoke it in Settings and create a new one.
