Moving to Progress
What maps to the board, documents, chat, and files — and how to create your first project.
Switching from another tool? Progress puts your tasks, docs, conversations, and files in one project, so you don't juggle a stack of apps. Here's how the pieces map over.
What maps to what
- Tasks and boards → the project board: a drag-and-drop kanban with cards carrying due dates, labels, checklists, attachments, and comments.
- Docs and wikis → Documents: rich-text documents scoped to the project, with @mentions and media.
- Team messaging → Chat: channels and DMs with threads, reactions, pins, and mentions.
- File storage → Files: per-project files and folders you can attach to cards or share.
Your calendar, meetings, recordings, and e-signatures live in the same project too.
Create your first project
1
Create a project
Create a project named for a team or client. It opens straight to its board.
2
Invite your team
Invite teammates by email from Settings → Members.
3
Start working
Add a few cards, drop in a document, and say hello in chat. Then run a real project end to end.
Don't see a tab you expected? Feature tabs are toggled per member — an admin can enable it for you in the project's member settings.
