What is user story?

A user story is a short, plain-language description of a need from the user's perspective, often in the form 'As a [user], I want [goal] so that [benefit].' Stories keep teams focused on outcomes for people rather than technical tasks, and are sized to fit within a sprint.

In Progress, each user story can live as a card on the board with its acceptance criteria in the card's checklist or notes, so the intent and the work stay together.
