What is burndown chart?

A burndown chart plots the amount of work remaining over time against an ideal line down to zero. By comparing actual progress to the plan each day, a team can tell early whether it's ahead, on track, or at risk of missing the sprint goal.

Progress keeps progress visible through a project's board — as cards move to Done, remaining work shrinks — giving a team the same day-to-day sense of pace that a burndown chart provides.
